Legacies of Veridocia: The Dark Dominion
(World Synopsis) |
(Veridocia) |
The continent of Veridocia is situated in a temperate region of the globe.
It has temperate spring, a warm summer, a cooling autumn, and a chilly winter.
It sees its share of rain, but it is usually light. Storms are a rarity on Veridocia. It is also virtually free of natural disasters
of all kinds.
Veridocia is steeped in rich
mystical lore. Home to the five ancient seals rumoured to be the containers for
ancient divine power, its people are very spiritual, and pay homage to their
patron god, Nazalem. He does not appear often, but
when he does, his presence resonates, steering the course of history.
·
Signus – The largest and most powerful kingdom on Veridocia,
its royal family guard the legacy of the ancient seals.
·
Erium – The smaller sister kingdom to Signus, it
was built to assist the small village of Reyval during
Goblin raids, which come from the many caves beneath the mountains a few times
a year.
·
Avaria – A kingdom in the sky, Avaria sits atop the
narrowest mountain in the range. Surrounded on all sides by a huge, gaping
drop, it is almost impossible to reach it unless you can fly, and it serves as
home to the numerous birdfolk of Veridocia.
·
Kyo – A small town on a tiny island to the south east, Kyo
is home to those who train in the art of stealth – it is the birthplace of all
ninjas.
·
Reyval – A simple town that trades farming goods with the rest of the
continent via the nearby river. It is an easy target for goblin raids, so it is
protected by the nearby Kingdom of Erium.
·
Guarn – A mining town predominantly populated by dwarves, its economy
thrives from its seemingly endless supply of precious metals and gemstones. At
the request of Signus, Guarn
is also tasked with tunnelling into the mountains to root out the goblin menace
·
Lashei – A very spiritual town – moreso than even
the rest of the continent – Lashei is a trove of
ancient knowledge and lore, and is often seen as a place of enlightenment.
·
Taban – A prosperous port town near the coast, it serves as both shipyard
and holiday resort. Out of the mountain’s shadow, it is arguably one of the
warmest locales on the continent.
·
Nahariya – Another port town, Nahariya’s climes are
not quite so warm as Taban’s, owing to the nearby
northern mountains. Many still see it as a nice place to vacate, and many a
mountain climber calls the place home.
·
Ohran – A bustling town that served as the primary import and export hub
with Carcerus until Marath
came to power. With many trade ships lost, and the continent to the north now
actively hostile, Ohran has been somewhat struggling,
and has bore the brunt of Marath’s
attempts to attack Veridocia.
